King Kong Coffee is a dark roasted coffee designed to be big, bold, and balanced. We like coffee, especially dark roasts with tons of flavour. We’ve tried a lot of different coffees but thought we could do better, so we made our own. Now it’s available to purchase on this website.

How much coffee should I order?

That depends on how much you drink, but there is some maths we can use to figure this out.

If you’re using a plunger or drip we suggest using 60 grams of ground coffee beans per liter of coffee being made. So here’s the maths:

  • A coffee mug is about 250 mL, so we’re talking 15 grams of coffee per mug.
  • If you’re making a litre of coffee, you’ll get about four mugs of coffee for your 60 grams. 

If you’re using an espresso machine  we suggest about 10 grams of ground coffee per shot.

Coffee is best when it’s fresh, that’s why we only roast and grind to order, and just like we don’t want it sitting around our warehouse getting stale, you don’t want it sitting around your house.

  • If you have whole coffee beans, grind them as you go and use them within 6 weeks.
  • If you have ground coffee beans, use them within about 2-3 weeks.

Fresher is always better when it comes to coffee.

How and when will my coffee beans get to me?

We roast and grind our coffee to order. This means it’s fresh when it gets to you and is full of flavour. This means we don’t have coffee sitting in our warehouse losing flavour.

We use Sendle to get our dark roasted coffee to you, and they’re pretty quick. So with our roasting schedule and a great courier, your coffee should get to you pretty quickly.

Am I in your delivery area?

If you’re in Australia, we can deliver to you. We deliver coffee beans to all states and territories across Australia.

Please note we can not ship to PO boxes. Please make sure you give us a physical address.

I don't have a coffee grinder. Can you grind the coffee for me?

No problem.

When you select one of our dark coffee blends you can also select what sort of grind you would like. We offered whole bean coffee and grinds for common home coffee brewing including espresso machine, plunger, filter/drip coffee, and stove top.

Just pick you coffee blend, pick your grind, pick your size, and add it to your cart!

Can I get coffee beans delivered regularly? Like on subscription?

Yep, no problem.

Just go to our coffee shop, find the blend you want, and select subscription. When you select a subscription you’ll also select how often you want your coffee delivered.

Better yet, you’ll save money if you subscribe.

Can I change or cancel my subscription?

Yes you can.

Just get in touch and let us know what you’d like.  Whether it’s change the amount or frequency of your coffee delivery, cancel, or just take a break, we’ll make the changes right away with no charges or anything like that.

I've seen ads for strong dark coffee, is that you guys?

Not us.

Yeah our coffee is dark. Yeah it’s pretty strong. But we’re not just the strong and dark type.

When we were developing our blends we realised that you can roast a coffee extremely dark, but you lose a lot of flavour and end up with a pretty bitter coffee. You can get strong beans but you lose depth and complexity.

That’s why we developed our own coffee. We wanted a coffee that had lots of flavour, had some kick to it, but didn’t sacrifice everything else about a great cup of coffee.

Our dark coffee is big. Our dark coffee is bold. But more importantly, our dark coffee is also balanced.

Big. Bold. Balance.

It’s what we do.

Do you have decaf?

Yes we do.

The Nomad Dark Decaf Blend has the same big and bold flavours as our other blends, just without caffeine. It’s nice and smooth just like our other coffee blends, but perfect if you would like to avoid caffeine.

What sort of beans do you use?

That’s a secret.

But if you want more information, we source our fresh, unroasted beans from Langdon Coffee Merchants in Melbourne. Langdon are an international coffee merchant who source quality quality raw coffee beans across the world. Their beans are traceable and from a variety of locations.

Is King Kong Coffee vegan, gluten free, OK for allergies, and anything else?

Coffee is naturally vegan and gluten free, so you shouldn’t have trouble there.

If you’re concerned about allergies, we can’t make any promises. Coffee beans are the only thing we put in our roasters so the risk of cross contamination is extremely low. If you’re able to drink other coffee brands, you should be OK with the dark roasts from King Kong Coffee. If you’re concerned, we suggest you consult your doctor.

Like all coffee, our dark roasted coffee contains caffeine. So if you’re sensitive to caffeine or can’t consume it for personal or religious reasons, it’s probably not for you. We still think you’re pretty cool though.

Is shopping safe on the King Kong Coffee Co website?

Yes, it’s very safe.

The little lock icon you see at the top of your web browser means that our site uses SSL encryption. This means no information between our site and your computer can be picked up by anyone else.

We use Stripe as our payment processing company. We chose Stripe because they’re easy to use, have great customer service, and are very secure. As with most payments online, we never have direct access to your credit card details.
